AToCStage 6

  • The day started out with a KOM climb... and the attacks are starting early.
  • A group of seven are away on the climb, Andy Schleck takes his pull, who else has made the selection?
  • Hincapie is here as well, will he repeat his Tour de France victory in this Queen's stage?
  • Jason McCartney is in the break for RadioShack, getting some fuel for the long day ahead - we've over 135 miles to go, and seven KOMs!
  • The break continues up the climb.
  • Back in the peloton, we see birthday boy Mark Cavendish, not sure he wanted this sort of "gift" for his birthday, he'll finish over 27 minutes back in the groupetto.
  • Jens seems to be climbing well, his usual look of determination on his face.
  • HTC Columbia are on the front, setting pace for Rogers, looking to keep him in gold at the end of the day.
  • It may be two months later than usual for the Amgen Tour of California, but there is still snow along the climbs
  • It is scenic here as the peloton rounds another bend in the San Burnadino National Forest.
  • Garmin crests the fifth KOM of the day.
  • Just after the second feed zone, a Fly V Australia rider has hit the deck...
  • ...and has delayed some BMC riders as well.
  • Horner was also delayed, Muravyev paces him back to the "peloton"...
  • HTC Columbia riders are showing the effort of the long day, but they're not setting the pace at the moment.
